Two of my favourite clients have a beautiful, vigorous eight-year-old sweetshoot bamboo, Phyllostachys dulcis, groowing in their front yard. I have admired it for years, and today I was kindly offered a piece to plant here on the farm. This is one of the bamboo species commonly grown for edible shoots in asia, and I’m excited to now have some planted within sight of our kitchen.
