We’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment out of our crop of overwintered ‘Rossa di Verona’ radicchio. While none of the plants formed heads in the autumn (I suspect I sowed it a little too late for that), they did produce large harvests of beautiful, delicious leaves, and some of the plants look like they might make heads soon. An added bonus has been that some of the plants cut down to stumps in February and early March responded by producing new clumps of tender foliage. This summer we’re going to sow a few different types of radicchio a few weeks earlier than last summer.
